Although that means I can't program the HOTAS, virtually all the controls can be mapped with AFBW to the functions I want inside KSP. If AFBW doesn't recognize the HOTAS, check that it appears in the regular Windows Control Panel. Go to the Control Panel, search for Joystick in the upper right search box and then click on Set up USB game controllers. If the Saitek X52 Flight Controller doesn't show up in the list of game controllers in the Game Controllers dialog box, try unplugging the HOTAS, waiting 10 seconds and then plugging it back in. If the Saitek still doesn't appear, try reinstalling just the plain drivers. If you still get nothing, it's possible there's a problem with your joystick that Saitek should fix. Their technical support should be able to get you as far as it appearing in the Game Controllers list.

There isn't an option to calibrate through the thrustmaster driver software, you have to download a separate calibration program. I couldn't find it on the official site anywhere, but found it via Google. Method 1: Uninstall Thrustmaster FFB Wheel driver via Programs and Features. When a new piece of program is installed on your system, that program is added to the list in Programs and Features. When you want to uninstall the program, you can go to the Programs and Features to uninstall it.

I didn't have a problem with setting up the throttle. When adding the throttle control in the Preset Editor, I click on the Add Axis button, then on Throttle (just Throttle, not the Throttle increment, decrement, etc.) and then on the Invert button.
